Announcing changes to document importer

As of February 21, 2017, you will see a change in the document importer feature. In our continued quest to make IT Glue easier to use, you can now import Word (.doc and .docx) documents. This saves you from having to copy and paste information from Word into IT Glue.

Note that this feature is currently only available to users with Manager or Administrator level access.

To import a single Word file, go to the Documents area of one of your organizations. Click on Import and choose Documents. This opens the document importer.

From here, select Word as the type of document to import, and then choose which .doc or .docx file to import. Click Continue to start the import.

Most of the formatting in the document will be retained (bold, italics, tables, etc.), but some small changes in formatting (such as the alignment of text) and other small changes can occur.

You can also upload a ZIP archive file containing multiple Word files. If the ZIP file contains folders that contain Word documents, the folder structure will also be imported.

For more information, see Importing documents (HTML, Word or Confluence).

Happy documenting!
